Diabetes Educator
What is Diabetes?
When someone has diabetes, their body can’t maintain healthy levels of glucose in the blood. Glucose is a form of sugar which is the main source of energy for our bodies. High levels of glucose in the blood can lead to complications such as eye problems, kidney problems and feet problems.
What is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator?
Credentialed Diabetes Educators are specialists in diabetes. Gaynor can be there with you the entire way through your diabetes journey. When you are first diagnosed, Gaynor explains what diabetes is and provides individualised advice on how to get your blood glucose levels within the appropriate target range. She will also help you organise tests and screenings for diabetes complications (eyes, feet, kidneys).
Gaynor can also help you when your blood glucose levels fluctuate, this could be changing when you are feeling stressed or anxious.
